Medicare Prescription Drug Plan
Medicare provides that every person entitled to Medicare Part A or enrolled in Medicare Part B is eligible for a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan. This coverage is designed to help cover the costs of prescription drugs at local pharmacies and through mail order programs. Although Medicare participants are eligible for this coverage, enrollment is not automatic. This voluntary program requires enrollment through a private insurance company such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina has been providing dependable health insurance coverage for more than 70 years. We offer both the Medicare Standard Prescription Drug plan as well as an enhanced plan we call our Plus Plan. Regardless of which plan you choose, you’ll have access to our large pharmacy network, and, we’ll take care of your prescription drug claims so you will have virtually no paperwork when you choose a network pharmacy.
